The Shimano Talica ii is a compact overhead reel with two speeds. The reel is amazing for live baiting but they have also designed the reel to be castable as well. The reel has been finished off with Shimano’s new E.I surface treatment technology which gives it that smooth looking protection.

What Shimano was going for when creating this reel? The reel is able to underhand a sardine 40 feet to the chum line with ease. They also wanted to increase the fishable drag of capabilities of the a small diameter reel. This was so that the reel could be used with heavy PowerPro and also short flurocarbon top shots that pro’s are using to land the big ones.

Gaining line of big fish is very simple and it is so easy shifting between the two gears. The drag feels silky smooth. Shimano has really come out with a winner with the Talica.
